Description

After-action reports provide agencies with the ability to quantify winter storm impacts on roadway mobility and support data-driven decisions for operator training and resource allocation for future events. These reports utilize Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) devices installed on Indiana Department of Transportation’s (INDOT) truck fleet, National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) weather data, and connected vehicle data from passenger vehicles to summarize mobility impacts statewide. Each report in this series shows the state of Indiana’s snowplow fleet's observed preparation and utilization the day before, during, and after a winter storm event.

This collection houses reports of snowplow impact on interstate mobility for Indiana managed by Purdue's Joint Transportation Research Program (JTRP). The database itself is not available for download in PURR because it is both prohibitively large and continually updated.
